Fred Vigdor
Fred Vigdor- Here's the first solo CD from my very talented friend of over 30 years, who "hipped me" to so much music when we were in music school together, and now years later, when I get a chance to see him, still has so much to share! Fred is the long-time saxophonist with the Average White Band (" Pick Up the Pieces", "Cut the Cake" etc), You have to check out his CD, I'm telling you, there's no one who knows more about this style of playing, and no one who plays it better (yeah, I'm partial, but I believe it!). Fred has a great sound, is so funky, grooves, and has written some really nice tunes here. As downbeat magazine would say: "Talent Deserving Wider Recognition"!
Steve D'Agostino
Steve D'Agostino- I used to sub on saxophone with Steve's wedding band Finesse as they say "back in the day". Steve has evolved and grown tremendously since then as a singer and musician because of his tremendous love for the Great American Songbook (esp. all the Sinatra, Nat Cole, Dino, Bobby Darin, Louis Prima, and Michael Buble interpretations), and now he has produced a real genuine recording of classic tunes. Recorded at Bennett Studio in New Jersey. You need to check this out!
Bob Semanchik
Bob Semanchik-my bandstand guitar buddy, who can play Stevie Ray, Lynyrd Skynyrd. Clapton, and Allman Brothers as good as anyone I've ever played with, then turn around and play some Wes Montgomery! His CD "Standard Interpretations" is gorgeous and ever so tasty. The really good news is that he's got another recording coming soon!
Cookie Thomas
You've got to check all the many recordings from my friend Richard "Cookie" Thomas!
He's got a beautiful, soulful voice, and many have compared him to singers such as Nat "King" Cole, Lou Rawls, and Johnny Hartman, and "Cookie" was certainly influenced by them, but he was also influenced by great soul and R&B singers like Ben E. King with the Drifters, and Sam Cooke (among others)."Cookie" is definitely his own man though, with his own style and great feel. The arrangements and musicians on his recordings are top-notch, the tunes are the best, and Cookie's voice is simply known by all as "The Smooth Voice That Makes The Event".
